All services are covered under NFZ (the national health fund). All you need is a declaration of choice of a POZ (primary care) doctor, nurse and midwife.
Primary care for adults: diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness, e-prescriptions, e-referrals to specialists, laboratory test orders, 40+ preventive check-ups and ChUK (cardiovascular disease prevention). Home visits for bedridden patients.
Care for children and teenagers up to 18: consultations for illness, health check-ups (ages 2, 4, 6, 10, 14, 16), vaccination screening, breastfeeding and nutrition advice. Separate hours for healthy children.
Mandatory vaccinations under the PSO (Preventive Vaccination Programme), recommended vaccinations (flu, HPV, pneumococcus, tick-borne encephalitis) and medical screening before vaccination.
Intramuscular and intravenous injections, dressing changes, suture removal, blood pressure and glucose measurement. Blood draws for tests ordered by the POZ doctor, no appointment needed.
Resting ECG with report, plus abdominal, thyroid and urinary tract ultrasound performed on site on referral from the POZ doctor. Results are added to the patient's record the same day.
Nursing services at the clinic and at the patient's home: care for people with chronic illness, health education, wound care, carrying out doctors' orders.
Antenatal education from week 21 of pregnancy, home visits to the newborn and mother, breastfeeding support, cervical smear tests under the cervical cancer prevention programme.
Orders for medical devices reimbursed by NFZ (braces, insoles, crutches, wheelchairs, incontinence pads), issued electronically. Advice on choosing and arranging the order.
